Speech-Language Pathologist-Assistant (SLP-A)
DESCRIPTION:
The Speech-Language Pathologist-Assistant (SLP-A) assists the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in supplying individualized instruction to high school students in the classroom and small group environments. To facilitate and supplement the educational process under the direction of a professional staff member. Responsibilities include communication facilitation, hearing aid management, carrying out programs designed by the SLP, managing behavior, teaching self-regulation skills, and supporting & facilitating social engagement with peers. Physical responsibilities include lifting, carrying, personal care, and the ability to assess a situation and respond quickly. This position is shared between Sustainability Academy and Integrated Arts Academy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications include but are not limited to:
- high school diploma plus at least 2 years of additional education;
- SLPA training program or communication science background,
- minimum of two years experience in education or related field;
- ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with students, parents, and school staff.
SALARY:
$16.50/hr.
