PARAEDUCATOR 

2022/2023

DESCRIPTION:

To assist professionals in supplying individualized instruction to elementary students in classroom and small group environments.  To facilitate and supplement the educational process under the direction of a professional staff member.   Responsibilities include communication facilitation, carrying out programs designed by the teaching staff, managing behavior, teaching self regulation skills, and supporting and facilitating social engagement with peers.  Physical responsibilities include lifting, carrying, personal care, and the ability to assess a situation and respond quickly.   

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications include but not limited to:  high school diploma plus at least 2 years additional education; minimum of two years experience in education or related field; ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with students, parents and school staff.

SALARY:

As per the Master Agreement between the Burlington Board of School Commissioners and the Paraeducators of the Burlington School District.

Health insurace available first of the month following start date. Life insurance benefits are available for this position after a period of 45 working days.  Dental benefits available after 1 full working year.
