School Bus Aide

Burlington School District is accepting applications for a Bus Aide. The Bus Aide provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum during the school year.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises students getting on and off the bus to be sure that they are safe.
- Daily cleaning of interior of bus and washes windows as needed.
- Supervises the students while riding the bus to be sure that they are safe.
- While riding the bus all of the aide’s attention should be directed towards keeping students in their seats and, when required, buckled using the provided safety harnesses/belts.
- Is aware of the requirements of transporting wheel-chair bound students if necessary.
- Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
- Maintains discipline when students are on bus.
- Keeps assigned bus clean.
- Discharges students only at authorized stops and transports only authorized students.
- Assists the bus driver when needed.
- Other Duties as assigned - may include light custodial work.

EXPERIENCE:
- Prior aide experiences a plus
- Ability to speak and communicate with bus driver and students
EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS/TERMS:
- SALARY: As per the Master agreement between the Burlington Board of School Commissioners and the Burlington Education Association. This is a hourly position paid Bi-Weekly

- PAID TIME: Sick Time / Personal Time / Holidays / Vacation As per the Master Agreement
