PARAEDUCATOR

Extended School Year:  June 26 - July 28, 2017 (K-8); July 3 - July 27 (9-12)

DESCRIPTION:

To assist professionals in supplying individualized instruction to elementary, middle school and high school students in classroom and small group environments.  To facilitate and supplement the educational process under the direction of a professional staff member.   Responsibilities include communication facilitation, carrying out programs designed by the teaching staff, managing behavior, teaching self regulation skills, and supporting and facilitating social engagement with peers.  Physical responsibilities include lifting, carrying, personal care, and the ability to assess a situation and respond quickly.   

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications include but not limited to:  high school diploma plus at least 2 years additional education; minimum of two years experience in education or related field; ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with students, parents and school staff.
