Job Goal: To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum during the school year.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supervises students getting on and off the bus to be sure that they are safe.
  2. Daily cleaning of interior of bus and washes windows as needed.
  3. Supervises the students while riding the bus to be sure that they are safe.
  4. While riding the bus all of the aide’s attention should be directed towards keeping students in their seats and, when required, buckled using the provided safety harnesses/belts.
  5. Is aware of the requirements of transporting wheel-chair bound students if necessary.
  6. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
  7. Maintains discipline when students are on bus.
  8. Keeps assigned bus clean.
  9. Discharges students only at authorized stops and transports only authorized students.
  10. Assists the bus driver when needed.
  11. Other Duties as assigned - may include light custodial work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel or crouch; reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat or cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

EXPERIENCE: 

  1. Prior aide experiences a plus
  2. Ability to speak and communicate with bus driver and students

In addition to great health benefits and paid time off this full-time position starts at $16.50 - $17.00 per hour based on experience. Hours are subject to change at any time to reflect facitlty needs.
